Potassium Iodide Supply
Radioactive iodine can make a significant contribution to the radiation dose in the event of a nuclear power plant accident. This results primarily in radiation exposure to the thyroid gland, with children more at risk than adults.
The timely intake of potassium iodide tablets in the event of large-scale radiation exposure can prevent the absorption of radioactive iodine into the thyroid gland and thus make a significant contribution to reducing radiation exposure.
