Local planning
The Building Regulations and Spatial Planning Unit of Department 13 provides consulting in matters of local spatial planning, supports and examines the planning activities of local authorities regarding the local development concept with development plan, zoning plan and construction planning. Based on the Styrian Spatial Planning Act, opinions are submitted in the preparation phase, during the public disclosure phase and in the approval phase for all amendments and revisions on the basis of spatial planning expertise. By providing its services to all Styrian communities, the unit attempts to guide spatial development in the right direction.
Regional planning law
The main tasks of the Building Regulations and Spatial Planning Unit of Department 13 with regard to regional planning law involve the consulting and support of communities in drawing up local development concepts, zoning and development plans, and in handling the legal aspects of ordinance reviews and approval procedures. The Building Regulations and Spatial Planning Unit of Department 13 also provides legal consulting in matters of spatial planning law and carries out reallocation, border change and nullity proceedings as well as substitute performances.
Building law
The Building Law team of the Building Regulations and Spatial Planning Unit of Department 13 is concerned with the consulting and supervision of communities and provides legal information on matters of building law. It also deals with petitions for administrative review both from citizens and members of community/municipal councils. It also reviews ordinances of community/municipal councils that are passed on the basis of the Styrian Building Act. It also keeps the list of non-official building experts and lift inspectors and is in charge of holding admission procedures as per official ruling.
