- Childcare
Establishment, supervision and promotion of more than 1,000 facilities (kindergartens, day nurseries, after-school centres, extended age groups, children's houses), and also the provision of pedagogical counselling services.The annual funding amounts to over 130 million euros. - Compulsory schools
Agendas that are not covered by the Board of Education, which was established with effect from 1 January 2019, remain in Department 6. These include, for example, the preparation and supervision of the teacher staffing plans, and also individual public sector employment law agendas, such as the appointment of head teachers. - Music schools
Department 6 handles the funding for music students to attend music schools in Styria and it also manages youth music competitions/events (e.g. "prima la musica").
