Tasks and responsibilities
The main task of this department is the implementation of a sustainable transport policy on the basis of the Styrian Transport Programme and also the laws and directives applicable in Austria and the EU. Particular emphasis is placed on the accessibility of Styria from both inside and outside the state. Transport is to be managed within the financial framework, taking into account environmentally-friendly means of transport (walking, cycling, public transport) combined with state-of-the-art safety standards. Thus, any successful transport policy requires a strong focus on marketing and raising awareness.
Please refer to the extensive collection of information available on the Styrian Transport Server with expert information from Department 16 - Transport.
The Styrian Cycling Server provides a comprehensive overview of Styrian cycling opportunities.
In terms of State Building Construction, our aim is, amongst other aspects, a state-wide coordinated approach to questions relating to construction technology, building culture and architectural matters of building construction, especially with regard to the coordinated approach in the building technology committees.
