The Unit exercises the legal supervision of the Styrian communities, municipalities and municipal associations, the distribution of joint federal taxes within the framework of fiscal equalisation and extensive tasks related to the legal budgetary situation of Styria's local authorities.

The Unit includes the areas of "Economic Affairs", managed by OAR. Edith Marcher and "Regional Municipal Supervision", managed by ORR. Mag. Josef Lecker.
