Tasks

Coordination, training and technical supervision of the authority's forestry service
- Providing expert services in the fields of forestry and hunting
- Acting as the supervisory authority for forest operations; monitoring woodlands with regard to compliance with forest law
- Crop protection services in the forestry/timber field, invasive species, species protection
- Forest reproduction material
- Assessment of woodland condition (damage), forest statistics
- Handling compensation from the Disaster Relief Fund (damage to forests and forest roads)
- Forest use planning, forest development plans, forest sector plans
- Forest education, forestry-related PR work
- Advice and consulting for forestry operations, handling subsidies in the forestry sector
- Implementation of the Austrian Protective Forest Strategy
- Area management projects in catchment areas of torrents and avalanches
- Operation of the Styrian Forest Gardens
