Tasks:
The main task of this unit is the implementation of major and special projects.
For such projects (environmental impact assessment required and/or rerouting and/or high media interest and/or high construction costs and/or project duration of several years, etc.), there is still an interface with the Integrated Transport Planning Unit.
A special characteristic of this unit is that all technical and design matters are also addressed during the planning phase.
Furthermore, the unit handles all maintenance work for tunnel construction projects in Styria.
Planning and tendering
- Specification of the required planning scope
- Preparation of project-specific documents for administrative law approvals
- Participation in negotiations to secure projects ready for construction
- Detailed planning of tunnels and bridges, underpasses, galleries and retaining walls
- Tenders for planning and construction measures
- Coordination of planning efforts
Awarding of contracts and construction
- Awarding contracts for all necessary measures in connection with project planning and construction
- Project management
- Local site supervision
- Citizen information, public relations
- Accounting and cost controlling
- Final building inspection and approval
- Release for traffic
- Warranty work
Maintenance
- Tunnel inspections
- Damage survey, damage assessment, root cause analysis
- Development of repair proposals
- Project management and on-site construction supervision
- Accounting and cost control
- Warranty work
- Life-cycle cost analysis, material testing
Other
- Development of planning and accounting guidelines
- Participation in committees for standardisation and for guidelines and regulations for the road sector (RVS)
- Research and development of new technologies
